As a stay at home Mum for the last 20 years ( the occasional part-time employment not withstanding!) I often remind DH that if he had to pay me, he couldn't afford me!! A few other jobs you can add - gardener, nurse, teachers aid, taxi, therapist ( when you have teenagers !!) and general handyperson! I wonder if I should present a bill to my employers once they start earning! I could go on a World Cruise, Presidential suite!!

I'm sorry, your last job was $150 an hour??? Can I get that job???

Congrats on the new job and good luck!

If your hubby goes for it, let me know... and post tips for the rest of us. ;)

Good luck at your new job! What an exciting time!

Funny thing - my hubby reminds me of the value of my time all the time. I've been having trouble adjusting to not working outside the home (I used to be a paralegal too.) When I'm feeling down on myself, he reminds me that if he had to pay someone to help him with his business, and we had to pay for daycare for the kiddos, and even if I went back to an outside job, we'd be in the poor house.

As a former paralegal myself, I sooooooo identify with this post! It took me a long time to stop thinking in tenths of an hour increments. Good luck with the new job!

Only while I was a student employee did I have to track my time... which as a student employee - a good portion of it ws spent screwing around... I'm glad I don't have to do that anymore! :) Congrats on the new job!!
