Head on out past New Boston, twist and turn some, and I don't even know what else!, and you end up at one of my very favorite places: My Aunt and Uncle's waterfront property.
I had visited this place for many years, as my relatives hosted Fourth of July festivities many years in a row. But since marriage and a child and general life responsibilities - I just hadn't gotten the chance to visit much lately. Until last year, that is, when finally we three were able to join the rest of my extended family for a relaxing early July day by the water.
Hubby, having never visited before, wondered why in the world HADN'T we visited before. Sweetie loved the opportunity to go kayaking for the first time. I loved relaxing by the shore with a plastic cup full of red wine, turkey burgers on the grill, and family members to catch up with.
Anxiously we awaited word on a gathering for this year. Alas, none has come forward as of yet. But there is still time. Still a lot of summer to enjoy. Perhaps we will still get the opportunity to spend a lazy day at this serene location.
We certainly hope so. Life has been so crazy lately. It sure would be wonderful to recenter ourselves at this out of the way location.
Sounds gorgeous.
Isn't living in New England awesome!
