Can I just say it now?
I freakin' love having the kids back in school.
Packing them off in the morning is fast becoming my favorite part of the day. There is something about having the house to myself that allows my brain to work better. It might be the knowledge that I won't be interrupted at whatever task I choose to do, or it could just be the blessed silence that affects me so deeply.
All I know is that I'm embarrassingly happy to be alone in my house this morning. And I've already finished up some of the tasks I tried to work on all weekend long. And the dishwasher is running, and the phone calls have been made, and I still have hours to myself.
So, I'll say it again: I freakin' love having the kids back in school.
I certainly relate to the bit about the peace and quiet providing time for brain function!
However, we have an in service / staff training day today, so my servicing may be a bit dodgy.
Cheers

Amen! Here's to coffee and curling up with a good book without hearing "mom mom mom mama momeeeeeee, mom mom mom...." ten million times inbetween the hours of 8AM to 3PM!

My kids are too young yet, and I (not my boys) suffer from separation anxiety when they are away from me! At what age does this get easier... for me?! Believe me, I miss my "me" time, but I don't feel normal without my boys in view. Then again, I've never been normal ;)
